We are a hyper growth startup backed (we’re just closing our Series B) by an all-star VC cast including LocalGlobe with Octopus Ventures – who have also funded the likes of Secret Escapes, Trouva, depop, and CityMapper. We are in London, Paris, Rome, Milan, New York and LA, and will be opening 20+ cities in 2019.

We’re looking for a DevOps engineer to be the first person in our platform team. This is a unique opportunity to bring your ideas to a high-growth startup that values your technical excellence working with talented engineers, product managers, visual creatives and brand builders.
Your Mission:
To be the supporter of our infrastructure to scale, provision, and monitor.
Working closely with engineering teams to design scalable infrastructure as code.
Implementing continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
Leading devops culture and automation to deliver quickly and increase engineering teams velocity.
Over the next 3 months you will:
Help design environments and CI/CD pipelines from BitBucket to production.
Move current Azure app services into Docker and Kubernetes using Infrastructure as code.
Make production environments resilient and improve monitoring and alerts.
Contribute to our new microservices architecture.
Some of the areas you will focus on:
Technical excellence: You will contribute to our evolving stack and architecture. As well as embracing infrastructure as code using Pulumi/Terraform and bringing your expert knowledge in networking to lead our containerisation strategy using Docker and Kubernetes.
Working with our engineering teams: You will lead devops best practises and processes for high impact delivery and ensure our teams move fast. Working alongside our product teams you will lead the design of infrastructure for our platforms and microservices strategy. From preparing and provisioning of resources for development and production environment to deployment pipelines on cloud infrastructure.
Scaling and speed: You will provision infrastructure to ensure our services respond fast for users across the world setting up multiple regions and managing traffic across them.
Reliability and monitoring: You will lead the charge of monitoring our platforms to provide real-time knowledge of behaviors, anomalies and sophisticated alerting systems. As a consumer business reliability is vital to us.
About you:
You are passionate about devops, automation and making systems resilient.
Experience with high-scale web applications, networking, distributed systems and microservices.
Ideally you have experience working with Azure or an equivalent provider like AWS. You should be familiar with technologies like service fabrics and mesh.
You have had ownership of mission-critical infrastructure – run, maintain and schedule upgrades.
Experience rolling out pipelines using Teamcity, Octopus, Bitbucket pipelines, Azure Devops.
You have created production environments using containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes, Istio
You have previously set up monitoring systems and best practises for alert escalation.
You champion infrastructure as code and have experience with Pulumi/Terraform.
Security is a first class citizen in your work.
Ideally you have experience working .Net and Node applications.
